In recent years, bamboo textiles have become very popular and are much more common as well. Historically, bamboo has been used for mostly structural purposes, however, a recent host of new technologies have enabled people to use bamboo fibers or viscose to manufacture a range of textiles. Fabrics made from bamboo are extremely soft and have a soft feel similar to cashmere as well as a lovely natural sheen similar to silk. That is why bamboo makes such exceptional towels that are soft to the touch and incredibly absorbent. We use only the finest 100% bamboo viscose for our towels which are silky smooth and more absorbent than most standard cotton towels, although, our organic cotton towels are a great option as well.
Bamboo is also touted as being a very sustainable crop most notably due to its high rate of growth. It is the fastest growing plant in existence, able to grow four or more feet per day. This allows bamboo crops to be harvested more frequently, which means less land is needed to produce it compared to cotton or other plants used in textile manufacturing. Due to the sheer amount of vertical growth, bamboo is able to deliver much more usable raw material for textile manufacturing than any other alternative. This, combined with new manufacturing and processing technology allows us to source and process some of the finest bamboo fabrics one could imagine.
