We recently did a photoshoot for the Nine Space Summer ’13 collection with the talented Stephanie Williams. Her work is inspiring–she has a knack for capturing the most beautiful moments, a fact evident in her portfolio. We wanted to know more about how she got started and what inspires her, and she was kind enough to take a few moments to answer some questions…

What inspired you to get into photography? I’ve always been an artist, and grew up painting and drawing. I love telling stories through photographs.

Is there a particular photographer whose work inspires you? I have many inspirations, a few current photographers are Rodney Smith, Tim Walker, and Roland Bello

What has been one of your favorite photo shoots? The shoot I will do tomorrow

What equipment do you use? What is your favorite lens? Canon 5D Mark III and Contax 645 medium format film camera.

Where did you get your inspiration for the Nine Space summer lookbook? From European travels, Moroccan architecture, and a relaxing resort feel.

What was your favorite part of today’s shoot? I love the spontaneous moments that happen on an on location shoot. Like when one of the hotel guest’s sweet puppy ran up to us while shoot. Of course, I couldn’t help including him in some of the shots.

What was your most memorable setup/scene from today? I have a lot of memorable scenes, the stylist did such a lovely job. I love the Pipe Stitch Sheet Set Scene with the yellow throw. It was so tranquil.

What’s one (or some!) of your favorite Nine Space products from today’s shoot? Ooh, I love so many of the textures and patterns in the Summer collection. My favorites are the Striped Bamboo Viscose Throws. Besides being super soft, their color palette is so subtle and beautiful.

What is your favorite trend for the summer season? Bold stripes and 60′s nostalgia

When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun? Travel and see new places, hang out at the beach, and spend time with my husband and three dogs.

What is something you never leave home without (snack, favorite chapstick, book, etc)? My ipad (perfect for research and planning while scouting).
